Alex Hare co-leads Hakai's ocean acidification observing efforts with Wiley Evans. Alex also contributes to the chemistry component of the year-round oceanographic monitoring work performed by the Hakai Institute.
Alex received a PhD in 2010 from the University of Manitoba, studying the marine biogeochemistry of trace metals and organic carbon in the Arctic Ocean. Prior to joining the Hakai Institute, Alex studied Arctic marine chemistry as a Research Associate at the Centre for Earth Observation Science, and worked as a Fisheries Biologist for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
