Institute/University

Luba Reshitnyk manages the 100 Islands research program—a collaborative effort to investigate how nutrients from the ocean affect the biodiversity on islands near the Calvert Island Field Station. She also leads habitat mapping initiatives with a particular focus on seagrass meadows and kelp forests

Luba received her MSc in geography at the University of Victoria; her research examined the use of high-resolution satellite imagery and single-beam acoustics for mapping coastal ecosystems in the Gwaii Haanas National Marine Conversation Area. Luba previously worked for GNS Science, a geoscience research institute in New Zealand.
