The Biodiversity of the Central Coast website is an online species identification “guidebook” for coastal British Columbia, focusing on the spectacular Great Bear Rainforest.
The website is based out of Brian Starzomski’s lab at the University of Victoria and is supported by the Hakai Institute. Kelly Fretwell gave us the inside story on the work involved in putting the website together. If you would like to contribute photos or expertise to the project, please contact Kelly at centralcoastbio[at]gmail.com.
To celebrate coastal biodiversity, we will be highlighting select species on Twitter and Instagram. Follow along using #BCCoastSpecies. Some of the remarkable coastal creatures featured on the @HakaiInstitute twitter feed in 2015 are featured in this Storify summary.
