The Tula Foundation has sponsored scientific research on the Central Coast for several years. The establishment of the Hakai Beach Institute will give those programs a base of operations, plus greatly enhance the capability to launch and manage programs independently and over a wider landscape. The Hakai Beach Institute is an operational entity with its own resources:
- Own facilities, including offices, dormitories, field labs, dock, etc.
- Own technical staff and scientific leadership
- Own research vessels
- Own equipment
- Own funding
The Research Station will assume responsibility for all research sponsored by the Tula Foundation on the Central Coast, which are described on the Tula Foundation website.
We will be announcing appointments and new research programs over the next few months.
Hakai Beach is at the center of our research area
